SAG-AFTRA Actors Rally To Combat Non-Union Commercial Productions

David Robb/Deadline More than 70 SAG-AFTRA members rallied tonight at the union’s Los Angeles headquarters to draw attention to the plight of commercial actors. A grassroots organization called UnionWorking says that “upwards of 60% of commercials today are being produced using nonunion talent.” The guild declined to either confirm or deny that figure. China’s celebrity actors have pay capped after outcry

China’s television production companies have announced that payments to actors will be capped in response to growing anger over celebrity salaries. Leading actors will be paid no more than 1 million yuan (£114,000) per episode or 50 million yuan per series.
