Target had a big win in its home business late last year with a collection by Chip and Joanna Gaines, stars of HGTV's Fixer Upper. Hearth & Hand with Magnolia and its modern farmhouse aesthetic is honey for many of Target’s shoppers, who want a touch of Joanna’s signature old-is-new style. The product line’s appeal is its distinctive, yet familiar and comfortable design at prices everyone can afford.
But for other shoppers Target needs to attract – Millennials who are in their prime for home-related purchases – it may not their cup of tea. Urban Millennials in their first (and likely small) apartment or home leaning towards a more contemporary design that won’t clutter tight spaces may not be drawn to that farmhouse-inspired look. Now Target has a home line designed for them: Made By Design.
Target sets the table in a statement: “Guests – especially those establishing their first homes – crave quality everyday items that will simplify t..

Palatine officials say the village will gain more than a significant business when Studio 41 Home Design Showroom opens in a former Northwest Highway automobile dealership.
Studio 41 executive general manager John Mannion expects the business specializing in home fixtures and décor to open in spring 2019 in the former AC Imports Jaguar dealership, 1410 W. Northwest Highway, just south of Dundee Road. AC Imports ended a 50-year run when it vacated the building in January 2017.
Palatine Mayor Jim Schwantz said Studio 41 will improve the northern gateway into the village. He said the business isn't receiving incentives through a tax increment financing district or other means to take over the 35,000-square-foot structure.
"It's a big win for us," Schwantz said. "There's certain things you can do within a TIF district. You can be creative. But this is outside of a TIF district, so this is truly a partn..
Mecca – An aesthetic sculpture that shakes the eyes of millions of visitors to Islam’s most revered house, making it a symbol of “the road to Mecca” through the inscriptions inspired by the heritage of Saudi Arabia’s Umm al-Qura.
The “Gate of Mecca”, also known as Quran Gate, was designed by Saudi artist Dia Aziz Dia in 1979 and was built at a cost of 46 mln SAR on an area of 4,712 square meters at a length of 152 meters and 31 meters in width. The gate is located on the Mecca-Jeddah highway, about five kilometers from the holy capital.
Visual artist Dia Aziz confirmed to Al Arabiya that the sculpture was inspired by the body of the Holy Quran, which rests on a wooden stand, intersecting its sides in the middle of the body.

Here, he sits down to talk about the creative process and high fashion.

“I grew up being told that being an artist isn’t necessarily the career path to go on, and then at one point, I started to believe it myself. But then I started seeing these artists who were able to make money while still staying true to their artistic vision. There is a way you can do both and Art Pays Me is about finding that balance.”
The name of your first solo show is Moments in Culture, what does that mean?
“When we first thought of the name of the show, I..
