Spears McAllester, a landscape and nature photographer from Signal Mountain, Tennessee, will be displaying his work at the John P. Holt Brentwood Library during January.
According to the Friends of the Brentwood Library, Spears is a native of Chattanooga who grew up hiking the area. He retired in 2015 to devote more time to photography and travel after 30 years at Erlanger Hospital as clinical engineer.
Spears decided to pursue fine art digital landscape photography in 2010, after a trip to Torres del Paine, Chile, followed by a 2011 trip to the Yosemite Valley where he took a “Winter Light” workshop from professional photographer Keith Walklet.
In 2012, Spears was accepted as a member of the cooperative In-Town Gallery in Chattanooga. He remains a member and is a gallery officer.
