Lori Alexander, a mum-of-four, thinks anyone who wears the saucy style is “advertising something (they) may not want to give”.
On her Twitter page, The Transformed Wife, she argued that baring your body causes men to “lust after you”.
She also urged ladies to cover up more instead of wearing bikinis.
Lori’s divisive tweet reads: “Young women, please don’t wear thong bikinis (or any bikinis for that matter).
“From the back you look naked.”
Lori added: “You are advertising something you may not want to give.
“Men are visual, even old men.
“Are you enjoying causing men to lust after you?
“This is exactly what you’re doing.”
Some seemed to agree with Lori, with 228 people liking her post.
But the responses to the post were overwhelmingly negative.
Unsurprisingly, women didn’t like being told what they should and shouldn’t wear.
One commenter remarked: “It doesn’t matter what a woman wears just so long as she feels comfortable and confident in what she wears.
“Stop shaming women for feeling comfortable in their own bodies.”
A second said:”Whatever I put on my body is for me.
“Maybe we should start teaching men not to objectify women instead.”
Another wrote: “My body means that I can do whatever I want.
“Even if I were completely naked, it wouldn’t be an invitation to touch me or make unwanted comments.”
And a third added: “Pretty sure it’s on men to restrain themselves in this situation.
“Stop policing women.”
Lori isn’t the only mum to call for thong bikinis to be banned.
Previously, women asked for G-string cossies to be banned because their husbands “hate to see them”.
One angry Facebook user said: “It’s disgusting and has to stop.
And another agreed: “Seems some people don’t know what appropriate swimwear is when it comes to public places where families will be present.”
