The comedian has been spilling details on his life his Hollywood for the past few weeks and his celeb stories just keep getting better.

Nicolas Cage once made an awkward pitch to Seth Rogen that went so horribly wrong Cage exited stage left when the comedian shot it down.

Rogen, 39, alleges the encounter happened in 2011 when he and creative partner Evan Goldberg were in the midst of casting their film, The Green Hornet.

He claims Cage wanted to play a “white Bahamian man” in the comedy flick.

The American Pickle star recalled that Cage said he wanted his character to be bald with tattooed hair.

“And we were like, ‘OK …’ We were kind of wrapping our heads around it,” Rogen told The Howard Stern Show on Monday.

The comedian has just released his memoir Yearbook, and has been sharing stories of his Hollywood life.

Rogen says Cage called back a few days later and said he didn’t actually want to do the tattooed hair for the movie because he was thinking he might do it in real life.

“I remember laughing hysterically when he said it on the phone — and then stopped, realising it wasn’t a joke,” the funnyman said of the bizarre moment, adding that Cage’s request and subsequent retract “set off a lot of alarms” for Rogen.

“I remember going there with Evan [Goldberg] my partner and just being like, ‘I just don’t want him to do it in front of us. I’ll just be so uncomfortable’. And I remember Evan being like, ‘He’s not going to do it. He’ll talk about it. He won’t launch into it. That would be too much’,” Rogen maintained.

The dinner in question took place at the home of Amy Pascal, who was Sony’s chairwoman at the time. Cage arrived at the residence “and literally within 60 seconds, we were all seated at the house as [Cage] stands in front of us reciting a monologue, talking in a Jamaican accent,” Rogen recalled. “And we were just like, ‘It’s happening’.”

“[His] monologue was not in the script,” Rogen added through laughter. “Nor did it have anything to do with the script. At which point I was like, ‘I don’t think he’s even read the script’.”

Rogen went onto to explain what happened next after the Face/Off star concluded his diatribe audition.

“It ends and, it is like he had just completed a backflip and he’s waiting for the applause,” said Rogen. “At which point everyone looks to me to express the group reaction. I was like, ‘It was OK. Cool. Thanks. We should talk about it. That’s not how we pictured the character’.’’

The response wasn’t one that Cage had seemed to expect, Rogen said, as the Gone in 60 Seconds star “instantly fell” in his seat.

“We all sit down for dinner and almost right away he just gets up and leaves,” Rogen said.

A rep for Cage did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
