The 'Ellen DeGeneres Show' host teaches the actor Instagram-selfie starter pack, including a duck face, mirror selfies as well as a selfie with a baby and vegetables.
Welcome to Instagram, Will Smith! "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" star announced that he joined the photo-sharing site during his appearance in Thursday, December 14 episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show".
Host Ellen DeGeneres, who has a little under 50 million Instagram followers, taught the "Suicide Squad" actor Instagram-selfie starter pack, including a duck face, mirror selfies as well as a selfie with a baby and vegetables, the latter of which was inspired by Oprah Winfrey.
"Okay. So, I'm going to take a picture of you, but the popular [is] duck lips," Ellen said, while demonstrating how to do a duck face. Later, Will and Ellen did a mirror selfie as well as a selfie with a baby while pouting his lips. "This is easy. I'm good at this," Will exclaimed.
But there are other things he had to master as an Instagram newbie, and it was a TBT. Dressing as characters from "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air", Will and Ellen posed together while the theme song of the popular show was played in the background.
Ellen celebrated Will's arrival on Instagram by reposting their mirror selfie. "Welcome to Instagram, @WillSmith! Glad I could help," so she captioned the snap.
His wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, also welcomed her husband on Instagram as she posted a shout out for him on her own account. "Welcome to Instagram @willsmith :)," she wrote alongside a screencap of Will's Instagram page.
Also among celebrities who welcomed the 49-year-old star was Justin Timberlake. "Welcome to Instagram @willsmith. This is called a #TBT. Which means Throwback Thursday. Which is a photo you post on Thursdays that you like, that was taken in the past," the "Can't Stop the Feeling" hitmaker captioned an old photo of him and Will. "I like this photo because it's a photo of you and me. And we look like we are having a serious conversation about something very important. And that makes me feel important."
