MUNCIE, Ind. — Cornerstone Center for the Arts, in partnership with PrimeTrust Federal Credit Union, will host the Young Artist Exhibition on March 1 for school-age children in Delaware County.
The show is free to enter for students in kindergarten through 12th grade who reside in or attend school in Delaware County. The public reception will be 5:30-8 p.m. March 1, in conjunction with First Thursday and is free and open to the public.
This is the second year for the show which will feature 2D and 3D artwork submitted by local students, according to a release. Entries will be placed into four grade categories: kindergarten-second grade, third-fifth grade, sixth-eighth grade and ninth-12th grade.
Submissions will be accepted at Cornerstone Center for the Arts’ second-floor information desk Feb. 14-23. Teachers may submit up to 10 pieces of work or students may submit up to three of their own pieces with assistance from a parent or guardian.
Prize packages, including cash awards, will be chosen for first, second and third place and honorable mentions in each category. A panel of community judges will select awards prior to the public reception. All artwork will be displayed at Cornerstone Center for the Arts on March 1.
Winning artwork will be on display in the Cornerstone Art Gallery throughout the month of April. There will be an opening reception for the winners showcase on April 5 in which all winners will be invited to attend and speak to the public about their work. Additionally, winning artwork may be displayed at PrimeTrust Federal Credit Union’s three locations.
